The Microsoft Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar provides a variety of tools for quickly creating, understanding, and troubleshooting Web pages.

The Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar provides several features for exploring and understanding Web pages. These features enable you to:

• - Locate and select specific elements on a Web page through a variety of techniques.
• - Selectively disable Internet Explorer settings.
• - View HTML object class names, ID's, and details such as link paths, tab index values, and access keys.

• - Validate HTML, CSS, WAI, and RSS web feed links.
• - Display image dimensions, file sizes, path information, and alternate (ALT) text.
• - Immediately resize the browser window to a new resolution.
• - Selectively clear the browser cache and saved cookies. Choose from all objects or those associated with a given domain.
• - Display a fully featured design ruler to help accurately align and measure objects on your pages.
• - Find the style rules used to set specific style values on an element.
• - View the formatted and syntax colored source of HTML and CSS.

The Developer Toolbar can be pinned to the Internet Explorer browser window or floated separately.

Microsoftin RoyaleNoir (musta) teema on nyt Zune teema. Tuota RoyaleNoir teemaa on paranneltu ja pienet virheet korjattu. Lopputuloksena Microsoft on nimennyt teeman uudelleen uuden Zune (iPod killerin?) tuoteperheen mukaisesti.

Kansanedustaja Jyrki Kasvi paheksuu sitä, että YLE:n Elävä arkisto toimii vain Windowsin MediaPlayerin (9.0 ja uudemmat) kanssa. Tietysti se on väärin Linux ja Mac käyttäjiä kohtaan. Mutta uskon projektin olleen erittäin iso ja johinkin kompromisseihin siinä on täytynyt tulla. Uskon myös, että tulevaisuudessa palvelu paranee ja huomoi muutkin käyttäjät. Mutta askel kerrallaan.

Se, että heti alkaa iso "poru" on sinällään minusta väärin. Yli 90% suomalaisista käyttää Windows käyttöjärjestelmää on fakta. Kansanedustaja Kasvi vetoaa siihen, että "...sivusto syrjii erityisesti suomalaiseen it-innovointiin perustuvia Linux-järjestelmiä". Onko kansanedustaja Kasvin mielestä Linux ainoa it-innovointiin pystyvä järjestelmä (sekin käyttää vain muiden valmistajien ohjelmistosoittimia). Totta on, että vaihtoehtoja olisi voinut olla hieman enemmän kuin pelkkä MediaPlayer, mutta olkaamme nyt tässä vaiheessa tyytyväisiä siihen, että tuo arkisto on ylipäätään olemassa ja käytettävissä. Linux gurujen kannattaa käydä vähän aikaan vaikka kirjastossa katsomassa Elävää arkistoa.

Olisi tietysti mukava myös tietää moniko noista Linux käyttäjistä ylipäätään koskaan haluavat käydä sivustoja katsomassa. Kaikki kunnioitukseni kansanedustaja Kasvia kohtaan, mutta mielestäni hänen tulisi ajaa koko it-alaa eikä vain "it-innovoivaa" Linuxia. Linux kun näyttää vain olevan se hänen "juttunsa".

Kesän aikana käytiin kiivasta keskustelua IE7:n standardien "osaamisesta" joka oli virheellinen. Lue itse!

Vihdoinkin, pitkän odottelun jälkeen Microsoft Office System 2007 julkinen beta versio on vihdoin ladattavissa.

Kerrassaan upea tuote, jo pelkästään Outlookiin tehtyjen parannusten takia tämä on kokeilemisen (ja myöhemin ostamisen) arvoinen tuote.

Just read the news at msmobiles.com that Nokia should start making Windows Mobile phones for the US market if they want to stay there on "top of the hill".

According to Gartner "In the enterprise market, Nokia should expand its smartphone portfolio past Symbian to include Microsoft-based products. Nokia is in danger of making the same mistake again — trying to force end users to take its preferred solution rather than giving them what they want. In North America, enterprises will demand Microsoft-based products. Nokia should not discontinue Symbian devices, but it should focus Symbian products on the consumer and prosumer market, while offering Microsoft-based products to the enterprise market."

I predict that within two years from now Nokia will make windows mobile phones. That has been my feeling a long time. Go for it Nokia!
